I am not an expert. However, my advice was not “say nothing, do nothing” my advice was that there are not magic words that will make your friends do what you want them to do.
I wrote this for a lot of reasons. Selfishly, to get it off of my chest and free me from an 8 year secret. Hopeful that maybe one person who has been through the same thing would read and realize that they are not the only one and that they are not stupid, as they have probably been called many times.
However, I certainly DID NOT write this as a way to gain any attention. People like you are why women stay silent, afraid that people won’t believe them and that they will be looked at as attention seekers and drama queens. I’m here to tell you, abuse is real, and it happens and usually to the people you would least expect.
So, since I’m not the girl I once was, my answer to you is that I have no fucks to give about your opinion. Please unfollow.
